The program
More than an art class.
A development program.
Art Academy is a structured creative development program — not entertainment, not free play. Every session is intentionally designed around the skills children increasingly arrive at school without: the ability to focus, persist through difficulty, regulate frustration, and create something they’re genuinely proud of.
In small groups of no more than 12 children, your child works through guided art experiences that challenge them at the right level — building real capability, session by session, week by week. And because we run through school holidays, that progress doesn’t stop at the end of term.

Outcomes
What your child actually builds
Every session targets specific developmental skills through structured creative practice. This is intentional — not incidental.
🧠
Focus & Persistence
Children learn to sit with a challenge — to stay in a task when it gets hard. This translates directly into classroom performance and study habits.
✋
Fine Motor Development
Cutting, brushwork, detailed drawing — all activities strengthen the hand muscles children need for writing and precision tasks at school.
💬
Confidence & Expression
Every child presents their work and articulates their creative choices. Week by week, hesitation disappears and a real creative voice emerges.
🔧
Problem-Solving
When something doesn’t go to plan — and in art, it often doesn’t — children learn to adapt, experiment, and find another way. Resilience through creativity.
😌
Emotional Regulation
The structured, rhythmic nature of creative work naturally regulates the nervous system. Children arrive switched on from school and leave calm and grounded.
🤝
Social Collaboration
Small group learning means children support each other’s work, offer kind feedback, and build the emotional intelligence that underpins all healthy relationships.

Common questions
Everything you need to know
Can’t find your answer? Get in touch — we’re happy to help.
How does the free trial work?
Book a spot online — it takes about two minutes. We’ll confirm your preferred session (Wednesday or Thursday at Payneham, 3:45–5:15pm). Your child attends the full 90-minute session at no cost. If it’s a good fit, you can enrol directly online to continue.
Is there a contract or term commitment?
No. Art Academy is $49 per session with no lock-in whatsoever. You can cancel anytime — there’s no notice period, no penalty, and no term commitment. We believe the program should earn your child’s attendance every single week.
Does it run through school holidays?
Yes — Art Academy runs every week of the year, including all South Australian school holidays. Consistent attendance is one of the key reasons children make real developmental progress. We don’t stop just because school does.
What days and times are sessions?
Art Academy runs on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:45–5:15pm, at our Payneham location. Both sessions run the same program — choose whichever day works for your family’s schedule.
What age is Art Academy for?
Art Academy is designed for children aged 5–10, aligned with primary school years. Sessions are intentionally structured to challenge children at the right developmental level for this age range.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just a snack and a water bottle. Every art material is provided — paints, brushes, paper, canvases, tools, and protective smocks. Sessions run straight after school, so a small snack keeps energy up through the session. Send them in clothes they’re comfortable getting a little messy in.
How many children are in each session?
A maximum of 12 children per session — always. This is fundamental to how Mini Ivy works. Small groups mean every child gets genuine attention, not just observation.
How is this different from a regular art class?
Art Academy is a structured creative development program — not a hobby class. Every session targets specific skills: focus, persistence, fine motor development, and emotional regulation. We track individual progress and adjust the challenge so each child keeps growing.
Your child’s first session
is completely free.
Trials run every week. $49/session after that — cancel anytime. The only thing standing between your child and a real creative practice is booking the trial.
