Between ages 3 and 6, the creative mind forms at a rate it will never match again. Most parents don't realise the window has closed until it already has. Mini Ivy is the structured art program trusted by over 1,000 Adelaide children — and their first session is completely free.

Finland made creative education a priority decades ago - not as an extra, not as a reward, but as a fundamental part of how children develop. The result? Finnish children are among the world's most curious, adaptable, and academically confident. Not because they study harder. Because they were taught to think differently from the very start.
In Australia, early childhood art is still largely a filler activity. Finger painting to keep kids busy between lunch and pick-up. Mini Ivy is not that. It's a structured, skill-building program designed around how 3–6 year olds actually learn - through making, exploring, and creating with their hands.
You don't need to know if your child is "an art kid." That's not the point. Every child aged 3–6 is in a critical creative window - and what happens in that window shapes how they think, communicate, and learn for years to come. The question isn't whether your child would benefit from this. The question is whether you're going to give them the chance.

You don't need to know whether your child loves art yet. That's what we're here to find out together. Mini Ivy is for any curious 3–6 year old who is ready to make things, try things, and surprise themselves. Think of it the way you'd think about swimming lessons or music tuition - structured, skill-based, and designed for exactly this age.
Each session builds on the last. Children learn actual art techniques - not just one-off craft activities.
Art gives children a voice. We watch them grow bolder and more expressive week after week.
Fine motor skills, focus, and following instruction - art builds all of it in the most enjoyable way possible.
Sessions are designed so every child feels seen and supported. Our educators are experienced in guiding groups of young artists through each project.
Fair question. We'd think the same thing. Here's the unfiltered answer.
We could spend thousands on Instagram ads. Instead, we'd rather do something that actually works: let the session speak for itself. One 60-minute session with your child is more persuasive than any ad we could ever run. And we know that.
If your child loves it, we hope you'll enrol. If it's not the right fit, that's genuinely okay - you leave with a piece of artwork, your child leaves with a great morning, and we part as friends.
There is no catch. There is no hard sell. There is no invoice at the door. The trial is our way of saying: we're confident enough in what we do that we'll let the session do the talking.
We deliberately limit trials to 2 per day so every child gets proper, individual attention from our educators. Trial families always get first access to ongoing spots before we open to the public. Families who hesitate regularly lose their preferred day and time.
Booking your trial costs you nothing. Waiting costs you the spot.

Three steps. That's all that stands between your child and their first Mini Ivy session.
Choose Torrensville or Payneham - whichever is closer to home - and select a session time that suits your family. The whole booking takes under two minutes.
Arrive at the studio. All art materials are ready and waiting. Your child will be welcomed by our experienced educators — Mrs Maria, Miss Claudia, Miss Angel, Miss Jacqui, Miss Sylvie, Miss Steph, or Miss Meg — who will help them feel right at home before the session begins. We ask that a parent or guardian stays nearby throughout.
Your child takes part in a full session and takes their artwork home. At the end, our educator shares a quick observation - what lit your child up, where their creative strengths showed, and which program we'd suggest. You leave knowing exactly what's right for them.
After the session, our educator shares a short verbal observation. Not a report. Not a formal assessment. Just an honest, informed view of your child as a creative learner - from someone who's spent 60 minutes making art with them.
We match your child to the art program that fits their creative stage. Here's what's available.
A single 90-minute art session with a structured project, educator-guided from start to finish, with plenty of room for your child's own creative voice. Runs weekly all year round.
Two back-to-back art sessions for children who want more time in the studio. Three hours of guided art-making covering more techniques and a more substantial finished piece to take home.
All four sessions in a single day - the most immersive Mini Ivy experience available. Children rotate through different art techniques and projects across the full day, building skills and finishing with a collection of artwork to take home.
Come when it suits you. Skip a week. Stop whenever you like. We're not a contract - we're a class your child will actually want to keep coming back to.
Every single review is five stars. These are real Adelaide parents - unedited, unpaid, straight from Google.
"Our son James started there about two years ago, and wow, what a difference. He used to struggle with separation anxiety quite severely at drop-offs, but now he walks in with so much confidence, like he owns the place. The teachers are so patient and really get kids. James is so ready for whatever comes next and we know Mini Ivy's given him the perfect foundation."
"One of the biggest changes I've noticed is in my daughter. She used to be really hesitant to try anything new because she was afraid of making mistakes. Now she tells me, 'It's okay to make mistakes because it means my brain is growing!' That kind of mindset shift is priceless. We're so grateful for Mini Ivy."
"My introverted little one really struggled in social settings, but Mini Ivy was absolutely incredible in helping her transition, make friends, grow confidence, art skills and independence. She has come in leaps and bounds. Charli was recently asked what her favourite part of the holidays were. Her answer, ever so proudly: 'ART SCHOOL'."
"My son has gone from struggling to hold a pencil and not showing an interest in art to now being excited to show me his new creations each week. Watching him be proud of his work has been a joy. This place has taught my son to focus for longer periods, explore his creativity, and learn in a calm environment. We can't wait to send our daughter too."
"Mini Ivy has been the best decision we've made for our 3 year old. She'd never been in care before so Mini Ivy has given her the confidence and tools to be away from our family whilst enjoying the fun and creative art activities. I have noticed so many developments in her confidence and social skills, as well as improved concentration and fine motor skills."
"My daughter attends Mini Ivy two full days a week. She faces developmental delays in speech, and through art she has found a unique way to express herself. The teachers are incredibly attentive and create an environment where she feels heard, valued, and supported. My daughter arrives with enthusiasm and leaves with the same joyful smile."
If your child comes in for their free trial and doesn't have a wonderful time - if they don't leave with a smile on their face and artwork in their hands - you owe us absolutely nothing, and we'll be the first to say it wasn't the right fit.
We've been doing this long enough to know that when the right child walks through the door, something special happens. We just ask that you give us the chance to show you.

Everything you need to know before your child's first session.
They walk through the door for the first time. Maybe a little unsure. Then they see the colours. The brushes. The other little artists already deep in their work.
Within minutes, they're absorbed. Completely in their element - focused, curious, creating something that is entirely their own.
An hour and a half later, they walk out holding a piece of artwork they made with their own hands. They can't stop talking about it on the way home. They ask you: "Can we come back next week?"
